Men's Basketball Set for Montana Tuesday Night

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's basketball will put its perfect start on the line Tuesday night as it hosts Montana (3-4, 0-0 Big Sky) at Reed Green Coliseum. The Golden Eagles (7-0, 0-0 SBC) are off to their best start in over 15 years.

- Sunday's 103-52 win over Mobile at The Greenhouse gave Southern Miss its 4th 7-0 start in program history and first since the 2006-07 season
- Felipe Haase recorded his first double-double (17 points, 11 rebounds) as a Golden Eagle and it was the 12th of his career
- Austin Crowley finished with 24 points, one shy of his career-high 25-point performance at Liberty Nov. 18
- Southern Miss was crowned Mayan Division Champions at the Cancun Challenge after wins over Winthrop and Purdue Fort Wayne
- Haase and Crowley were named to the All-Tournament Team with Haase picking up MVP honors
- The Golden Eagle defense is holding opponents to 55.1 points per game, which ranks 12th in the country
- As of Monday, Southern Miss ranks 17th in scoring margin, 10th in steals per game, 2nd in turnover margin and 11th in turnovers forced per game
- Southern Miss has dominated in the paint en route to winning the paint battle in each of the first seven games
- The Golden Eagles' defensive pressure has only allowed 10-plus fast break points one time this season

-Montana is coming off a loss at Air Force Sunday afternoon that dropped its record to 3-4
- Preseason All-Big Sky selection Josh Bannan has been off to a tremendous start this season, averaging a double-double for the year
- He currently averages 14.8 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, one of just 22 players in the country to be in double-figures for both categories. Bannan is the only Big Sky player averaging a double-double
- The Grizzlies were picked to finish third in the Preseason Big Sky standings
- Their game at Air Force started a road trip that sees them play five of the next six games away from Missoula

- This is the second meeting between the two schools and the first in Hattiesburg
