HATTIESBURG, Miss.—The Southern Miss women's soccer team (1-9-4, 1-5-3 Sun Belt) go head-to-head with Louisiana (3-8-5, 2-5-2 Sun Belt) for the last regular season match at the Southern Miss Soccer Complex Oct. 27.
Last Time Out
Southern Miss recorded their fourth tie for the season, the most since the 2013 season, on Sunday, Oct. 23, in Jonesboro, Ark., against the Red Wolves 2-2.
Forward Esmeralda Figueroa grabbed her second goal of the season, striking in the 21st minute after a foot race with the A-State forward, getting ahead and firing at the bottom left of the net with an assist from midfielder Taylor Stewart.
After two goals were ruled as offsides in the first, the Red Wolves came back in the second to tie the score in the 53rd minute when forward Emma Riley whipped the ball into the right side of the net with the help of midfielder Aliyah Williamson. Figueroa then helped Nolubablo Sishuba record her first goal of the season and third of her career eight minutes later to reclaim the Golden Eagle lead 2-1. This lead would only hold for a short period when Williamson netted the ball past Alex Helbling. Though, both teams were unable to separate after two periods.
Series History
The series is tied 3-3-1, with matches dating back to 2003.

Midfielder Taylor Kennedy's 25-yard shot slotted into the net over the head of Southern Miss keeper Brittany Taylor in the 37th minute of action.
With 11 minutes left in the contest, Southern Miss found the net off a free kick that slipped past the goal line. Unfortunately, their momentum was not enough to find the equalizer.
