1/22/2022 8:16:00 PM | Track & Field/Cross Country
NASHVILLE – For the second-straight week, a Southern Miss indoor track and field record fell, as Fred Moudani set the new program standard in the shot put with a throw of 59'8.5" to finish second and lead the Golden Eagles at the Vanderbilt Invitational at the David Williams II Recreation and Wellness Center.
"We had some great performances across all event areas this weekend," head coach Jon Stuart said. "It was great to get event titles today from Fred Moudani and DJ Butler, and then Corvell Todd yesterday to highlight an excellent effort for the men. I thought our women's team was fantastic, with numerous top marks in Conference USA and they continue to compete at a high level. As a team, we're not close to top shape, so I'm excited to see how we put it all together in our upcoming meets."
Along with Moudani earning silver, Todd won the high jump with a leap of 7'1", while Butler earned a win on the track, finishing the 400m in a time of 47.86.
