HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss beach volleyball team will play its fourth-straight road tournament to begin the season, this time at the LSU Beach Invitational in Baton Rouge, Saturday through Sunday.
Schedule
Saturday (11 a.m.) - No. 16 South Carolina
Saturday (5 p.m.) - Texas A&M Corpus-Christi
Sunday (12:30 p.m.) - New Orleans
Sunday (3:30 p.m.) - No. 3 LSU
Free streaming is available all weekend here. Sunday's action will air regionally on COX Sports TV, with online options here depending on one's cable provider.
The weekend slate will make for nine of the team's first 16 opponents being ranked. Southern Miss has two pairs with a team-high five wins: Kylie Grandy/Abbey Wilson and Kai Norman/Valeria Siakidou Papakyriakou at Nos. 1 and 4, respectively.
Grandy and Wilson have two wins over the Gamecocks in their careers, one being in 2019 and the other last weekend in Columbia.
The Golden Eagles will seek revenge against New Orleans, which took two 3-2 wins to start the 2020 season. They have not faced Texas A&M Corpus Christi yet, and in their only prior LSU matchup, Cyan Blackdeer and then-freshman Olivia Hepworth picked up a three-set victory on No. 4.
