HATTIESBURG, Miss. — For the third consecutive year, a Southern Miss high jumper has qualified for the NCAA Indoor championship. Corvell Todd carries on the success of the Golden Eagles in the event, as he is set to compete tomorrow morning at 11:30 a.m. CT at the Randal Tyson Track Center.
I'm really excited to see Corvell compete on our biggest stage," head coach Jon Stuart said. "Coach (Jamaal) Barnes has done an incredible job preparing him and he's ready to jump.
The Conference USA champion joins two-time NCAA Qualifier and teammate Eric Richards in the line of success for the Black and Gold in the high jump. The Byhalia, Miss. native took home the C-USA title after clearing 7'1.5".
Todd enters the meet ranked tied for sixth nationally after passing the bar at 7'2.25" earlier this season at the Music City Challenge.
"I'm excited for another opportunity to see Corvell compete," Barnes added. "We're certainly ready to make the most of it."
The three-time NJCAA already ranks second all-time in program history in his first season with Southern Miss. He has captured individual titles in four of five meets this season.
Todd drew the No. 16 spot in the event and will be the last jumper to compete.
