Men's Golf Opens Spring Season at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate

The Southern Miss men's golf team opens the spring portion of their schedule Sunday when they participate in the 14-team Mobile Bay Collegiate.
The event takes place at the par 72, 7,212-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Club and includes No. 5 UAB, Michigan, Davidson, South Alabama (and their "B" squad), Illinois, Illinois State, Southern Miss, Indian, Texas State, Kansas State, Toledo, Kent State, WKU and Lipscomb.
The 54-hole event will consist of 18 holes over a three-day period with the culmination of the tournament on Tuesday.
During the fall, the Golden Eagles played in just three events with their best finish of 5th in The Grove Invitational in Murfreesboro, Tenn.
The Golden Eagles will utilize the team of Warwick Purchase, Brian Richards, Matt Lorenz and Thongpipat Rattanayanon, while Robbie Latter will compete as an individual.
