Golden Eagles Open Season At Vulcan Invite

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Southern Miss track and field team open their season tomorrow at the Vulcan Invite hosted by UAB at the Birmingham CrossPlex. The men's shot put will kick off the meet at 9 a.m. CT, while the 60m will start the running events at 10 a.m. CT.
The Golden Eagles competed last at the C-USA Indoor Championship in February and make their long-awaited return 328 days later.
"It's great to be back in competition mode," head coach Jon Stuart said. "We'll gain back any fitness that might have been lost over the break and the technique we've learned will still be in place. We simply need the gun to sound."
Overall, the Black and Gold will have 29 student-athletes competing at the meet, including eight newcomers who will make their debut for Southern Miss.
