HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- On a beautiful Saturday morning at the Southern Miss Tennis Facility, the Southern Miss Women's Tennis (4-0, 0-0 C-USA) team dominated en route to a 7-0 shutout over Delta State (0-1, 0-0 GSC).
The win moved the Golden Eagles' unbeaten streak to four for the second consecutive season under Steve Schram. Freshman Jeanne Gearity provided a spark on court six as the St. Cloud, Fla. native recorded her first career win as a Golden Eagle. Gearity bounced back in the third set to win a 10-4 tiebreaker over Beth Owen. Katia de la Garza moved her record to 4-0 after posting an impressive showing on court one.
