Golden Eagles to Host Florida A&M Friday Afternoon

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- With its season opener in the books, the Southern Miss Women's Tennis team will host Florida A&M (0-3, 0-0 MEAC) Friday afternoon in the team's home opener. First serve at the Southern Miss Tennis Facility is slated for 2 p.m.
Friday's contest is the first for the Golden Eagles since shutting out Prairie View A&M in Tuesday's season opener. The Golden Eagles were able to utilize wins from three veterans on Tuesday to secure three points in singles play and snagged the doubles point after two returning duos cruised to wins.
The Rattlers head to Hattiesburg on a cold streak as losers of their first three matches. They return five members from last year's squad that traveled to Hattiesburg to face the Golden Eagles. Most recently, Florida A&M fell 4-0 to Flagler (DII).
Entering his second season at the helm of the program, Steve Schram boasts a 6-0 record at home, including a 4-0 shutout against Florida A&M in last year's home opener. Admission to Friday's home opener is free.
