Track & Field Heads Back to Birmingham for Samford Invite

The meet will take place at the CrossPlex on Friday and Saturday.
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss track and field squads head back to Birmingham, this time for the Samford Invite on Friday and Saturday at the CrossPlex.
The Golden Eagles started out strong at the Blazer Invite with two event winners and multiple Southern Miss records broken. They look to continue the early success in the second meet of the season, hosted by Samford.
Southern Miss sends 25 women and 24 men to the meet, competing in more than 10 events.
On Friday, just a few athletes will be competing, starting at 7 p.m.
W High Jump – Zaria Jones, Callie Jones
M Weight Throw – Bethal Miles, Joe Wager, Trevor Leinstock
W 200m – Keiyana Gaskin, Ashlee Osaji, Angel Williams, Savi'a Varnell, Jasmine Griffin

Saturday is when the majority of the action will take place, with the first event beginning at 8 a.m.
