
Volleyball Continues Road Swing in the Big Easy

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss (0-10, 0-0 C-USA) women's volleyball team will make the two-hour drive to New Orleans on Wednesday to battle Tulane (8-3, 0-0 AAC). The two rivals are set to renew a series that dates back to 1981.
The last time out
Despite going winless at the Georgia Southern Invitational last weekend, several Golden Eagles put up career numbers. The group was led by senior Ashley Chapman who capped off an impressive week with a career-high 20 digs against UNC Asheville. That performance came just days after the former defensive specialist smacked a career-high eight kills at Louisiana and another eight kills against Winthrop.

Freshmen Kess Krutsinger and Lindsey Legg also had impressive showings against UNC Asheville. The two dished out a career-high 11 kills and 20 digs, respectively. Junior Piper Matsumoto also chipped in at least 27 assists in all three matches in Statesboro, Ga. Junior Madison Lawler had perhaps the most impressive performance, racking up a career-high 26 digs in a loss to Winthrop. That was the most by a Golden Eagles since Sarah Bell, a 2018 graduate, recorded 29 against Rice on Oct. 7, 2018.
