Golden Eagles Finish Play at UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Cassidy Evreniadis' 2-over 74 was her best round of the week, as well as the lowest for the team on Tuesday, but the Southern Miss women's golf team finished 12th out of the 17-team field at the UNF Collegiate.
Both Evreniadis and Miranda Holt carded two birdies on the day. Henriette Syr still managed to hold the fourth-best total out of the field in terms of par-threes, finishing two-under overall. Friend Chompitakdacha ended with a tourney-best 41 holes for par. There were six eagles on the week, including two from Delaware, which relinquished its second-round lead to host North Florida and Mercer for the first and second spots, respectively.
The Golden Eagles were four strokes away from the No. 10 spot, where Georgia Southern and Jacksonville State tied at 899.
The squad will take a bit of a hiatus around spring break, next playing March 22-24 at the Mountain View Intercollegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
