Track and Field Set to Host Southern Miss Open

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's and women's track teams are set to compete in their second home meet of the season on April 27 and 28.
Friday's field events are slated to begin at 3:30 pm with the women's triple jump followed by the men and concludes with the women's javelin. Saturday begins at 11:30 pm with the women's high jump while the running events will begin around noon.
Teams in attendance include UAB, UL-Monroe, UL-Lafayette, South Alabama, Dillard, Southeastern Louisiana and Dillard.
On Saturday the Golden Eagle seniors will be recognized before the running events, approximately 11:30 am.
At the Southern Miss Invitational, the Golden Eagles broke the school record in the women's shot put behind Alexis Chiles and the men's 4x100m relay broke the school record with a time of 39.67. The teams combined for 21 event wins.
