"This group has done a great job this fall grinding out workouts, races, and working together as a team. Everything we've put in front of them has gotten them ready for the opportunity we have this weekend.  Now it's about executing our plan and fighting for 5000m.  I like where we are at as a team and I'm really looking forward to watching this group compete Saturday."
Â
The XC Squad is coming off a third-place finish at the Blazer Classic hosted by fellow conference member UAB.
The course for Saturday's championship meet hits home for senior Victoria Hoppe; she won her first team trophy in the eighth grade on the same course. Hoppe is from Homestead, Fla.
Day 1
The team traveled from Hattiesburg to New Orleans for their flight to Fort Lauderdale. After grabbing some lunch and settling into the hotel, the squad went to FAU's campus to have practice on the Owls' track.
