HATTIESBURG, Miss. – After matching a program best, 11 wins on Friday night, the Southern Miss soccer team (11-3-1, 5-2-1 C-USA) will now travel to Birmingham, Ala. for a 1:00 p.m. (CT) contest against the UAB Blazers (8-6-1, 5-3-0 C-USA) on Sunday, October 21. The match will be played at BBVA Compass Field on the campus of UAB. Â

In their last match, Southern Miss defeated Middle Tennessee by a final score of 1-0.

The Golden Eagles surpassed multiple team and individual milestones in Murfreesboro on Friday night.

With their win against the Blue Raiders, the Golden Eagles notched their 11th win of the season. Until last night, no Southern Miss team had recorded an 11-win season since 1997, the year that the program first began.

The Golden Eagles also earned their fifth conference win, marking the most conference wins by a Southern Miss team since the 2000 squad finished the season with six conference wins.

Southern Miss also posted their ninth shutout of the season, setting a new single-season high. Prior to the 2018 season, the most shutouts ever recorded by a Southern Miss team in a single season was seven, which occurred in 2003.

Sophomore defender Caitlin Pierce recorded the first goal of her Southern Miss career. Pierce produced the lone goal of the game after netting a set piece at the 42:54 mark in the first half of the match.

Sophomore goalkeeper Kendell Mindnich registered her fifth shutout of the season. Mindnich's five shutouts this season are the second most recorded by a Southern Miss goalkeeper in a single season.
