Choudrant, La. - Southern Miss sits in fourth-place after two rounds of the Squire Creek Invitational, hosted by Louisiana Tech and played at the par 72, 7,105 yard Squire Creek Country Club.
The Golden Eagles shot rounds of 297 and 299 to finish with a 36-hole score of 596, 20 strokes over par.
Redshirt junior Derek Plucienski, who came into the tournament with a stroke average of 68.3 through six rounds, is tied for 16th-place at four-over par after shooting rounds of 73 and 75 for a 36-hole score of 148.
Also tied for 16th-place at four-over is senior Brent Hobbs. The Mesa, Ariz. Native opened with an even par 72 before shooting a second round 76.
Redshirt junior Nick Brown and freshman Kevin Brady are tied for 22nd-place at six-over par with a 36-hole score of 150. Brown shot a 77-73, while Brady fired consecutive 75's.
Freshman Zach Estep closed out the scoring, opening with an 81 before carding a 77 to sit 14-over par (158) in a 50th-place tie.
Southeastern Louisiana leads the tournament at five-over par with a 36-hole score of 581. Jacksonville State and host Louisiana Tech are tied for second at eight-over.
SLU's Horacio Leon leads the individual competition at five-under par, while Ken Looper of LSU is in second-place at two-under par.
The tournament concludes tomorrow with the final round, with Southern Miss teeing off at 8:00 a.m.
