Prep: Played his prep baseball at West Jones High School for former Golden Eagle standout Trey Sutton…Excelled at both shortstop and on the mound…Earned Mississippi Association of Coaches Player of the Year honors his senior campaign…Also earned all-district, All-District Player of the Year accolades as well…Collected a .314 batting average with nine doubles, two home runs and 26 RBI to go along with an 8-1 record and a 1.80 ERA his senior campaign…Delivered a two-run double to give his team a 2-1 lead over Lafayette in the state championship-clinching 7-2 win over Lafayette his senior season…It was the first state championship for the school in the sport…Posted a career .293 batting average with 18 doubles, a triple, 5 home runs and 70 RBI…Added a 18-2 record on the hill with a 1.30 ERA…Posted 188 strikeouts and only 47 walks in 134 1/3 innings.
