Southern Miss Closes Out Ben Connell Ram Classic Tied for 11th in Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Savannah Van Gaalen fired a three-under 69 with two eagles in the final round to lead Southern Miss to a tied for 11th finish at the Ben Connell Ram Classic, closing out play Tuesday at Ptarmigan Golf & Country Club. The Golden Eagles posted a final round six-over 294 that moved the black and gold up two spots on the leaderboard.

Savannah Van Gaalen turned in the low round of the day for the Golden Eagles, carding four birdies to go with her two eagles and move into a tie for 31st individually at four-over for the tournament.

Morgan Guepet posted the second-best finish for Southern Miss, shooting a three-over 75 in the final round to close at three-over and a tie for 27th. Guepet was one of the steadiest players in the field on the par 5s all week, ranking tied for sixth with a 4.58 scoring average and finishing 5-under on par 5s for the tournament.

Louise Cuyvers shot a three-over 75 in the final round to finish tied for 36th at six-over, while Liv Romer also carded a 75 to close in a tie for 50th at 10-over. Chloe Stevenazzi rounded out the Golden Eagles' scoring with a final-round four-over 76, finishing tied for 63rd at 13-over.

UNLV ran away with the team title at 19-under, followed by Washington at four-under and San Diego State at three-under. Southern Miss finished tied with Hawaii at 22-over, one spot ahead of Northern Colorado.
