Guepet Leads Southern Miss Into Final Round at the Ben Connell Ram Classic

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Southern Miss finished day one at the Ben Connell Ram Classic, posting a 16-over 592 through 36 holes on Monday. Morgan Guepet leads the Golden Eagles at even-par 144 as the team heads into Tuesday's final round at Ptarmigan Golf Course.
Guepet sits tied for 19th individually after opening with a 1-over 73 before rebounding with a 1-under 71 in the afternoon, a round that included an eagle on the par-5 16th hole. Her second-round charge moved her up four spots on the individual leaderboard.
Louise Cuyvers is Southern Miss's No. 2 scorer at 3-over 147, tied for 35th, following rounds of 74 and 73. Liv Romer and Savannah Van Gaalen are tied for 54th at 7-over 151 apiece. Romer carded 76-75 and Van Gaalen went 77-74. Chloe Stevenazzi rounds out the Southern Miss lineup at 9-over 153, tied for 65th, after a 76 in the morning and a 77 in the afternoon.
As a team, the Golden Eagles opened with an 11-over 299 to sit 11th through the first round. A 5-over 293 in the second round dropped Southern Miss two spots on the team leaderboard, and Northern Colorado's plus-1 finish to the day nudged the Bears past the Golden Eagles by a single stroke, leaving Southern Miss 13th at the midway point.
UNLV leads the tournament at 12-under 564 after rounds of 2-under and 10-under. Washington at 6-under, UC Davis at 5-under, San Diego State at 3-under and Cal Poly at 1-under round out the top five.
