HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's soccer (1-2-1) continues its three game home stretch Thursday night against Jacksonville State (1-2-1) at 4 p.m. at Marshall Bell Track & Field/Soccer Complex. The Golden Eagles return home looking to build on the energy generated from last week's 2-2 draw with Southeastern Louisiana in head coach Danny Owens' home opener.

Southern Miss earned a crucial point last Thursday after trailing 2-1 and rallying to tie with a penalty kick equalizer from Ryan Smith at 85'. The resilience shown in that match set a tone heading into Jacksonville State. The Golden Eagles controlled much of the second half and created multiple chances despite the road losses that preceded the Southeastern match. Coach Owens' squad is finding its footing at home, and the momentum from that comeback effort carries into this week.
Jacksonville State arrives in Hattiesburg after securing a 4-3 road victory over Troy last Saturday. This is the second of three consecutive home matches for Southern Miss. The opportunity to string together results at home is significant heading into conference play.
