NEW ORLEANS – Southern Miss soccer defender Shaelynn Quick was named Third-Team All-Sun Belt Conference, the league announced Thursday as part of its 2026 postseason awards.
The honor is the first All-Sun Belt selection of Quick's career and makes her the third Golden Eagle to earn all-conference recognition since Southern Miss joined the Sun Belt in 2022.
Quick put together one of the most productive seasons of her career on both ends of the field. The redshirt senior from Florence, Miss., finished the regular season with five goals and 10 points across 14 appearances, ranking second on the team in both categories despite playing primarily along the back line. She placed 10 of her 16 shots on frame and finished with one game-winning goal.
Three of Quick's goals came during Sun Belt play. She delivered one of Southern Miss' biggest individual performances of the season against Louisiana Tech, scoring both goals in a 2-1 win at Marshall Bell Track & Field/Soccer Complex. Quick later found the back of the net against Georgia Southern, providing the opening goal in a 1-1 draw that helped the Golden Eagles stay in the thick of the postseason race.
Quick also played a key role in a Southern Miss defensive group that recorded five clean sheets during the regular season. The Golden Eagles posted three 1-0 road shutouts in conference play at Arkansas State, South Alabama and ULM, with the victory in Monroe securing Southern Miss a place in the Sun Belt Conference Championship.
Her selection comes during a season in which Southern Miss established new program highs since joining the Sun Belt with four conference victories and 14 league points. The Golden Eagles finished the regular season 7-6-4 overall and 4-4-2 in conference play, earning the No. 8 seed in the league tournament.
Quick becomes Southern Miss' first All-Sun Belt selection since Adaira Nakano earned Second-Team honors in 2024.
