Camden Clark Registers Pair of Weekly Honors
5/5/2026 1:00:00 PM | Baseball
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss sophomore right-handed pitcher Camden Clark (Laurel, Miss.) earned a pair of honors Tuesday, picking up the Sun Belt Conference Pitcher of the Week award as well as collecting a spot on the Baseball America Team of the Week.
Clark, in only his third start of the season, produced career highs for innings, strikeouts and pitches as he defeated ULM, 3-1, last Saturday evening to improve to 6-0 this season.
Clark threw 105 pitches (83 for strikes) as he fanned 15 batters and did not allow a walk to go along with three hits over seven innings. His only blemish was a solo homer surrendered in the third.
After that, Clark only allowed three more batters to reach base - a third-inning double, a throwing error in the fifth and a single in the seventh - as he whiffed the most batters in a game since Tanner Hall produced 15 against Arkansas State on April 30, 2023.
He fanned at least one batter in every inning and struck out three batters in an inning twice. For the year, Clark now has 55 strikeouts with only six walks in 35 innings of work.
For Clark, it marks his first Sun Belt Weekly honor and the second pitcher honor for the program this season. The Golden Eagles also have won the league's Player of the Week award twice
Southern Miss (34-14 overall, 16-8 Sun Belt) returns to action this weekend when they travel to James Madison for a three-game Sun Belt series. The series opens on Friday at 5 p.m., CT from Harrisonburg, Va.
