MONROE, La. -- The Southern Miss women's golf team is tied for fifth through 36 holes of play at the ULM Invitational. Louise Cuyvers leads the Golden Eagles in eighth place at Bayou DeSiard Country Club in Monroe, La.Â
Cuyvers posted four birdies in her morning round, shooting an even-par 72. She added another even-par round in the afternoon that had three more birdies to place her in the tie for eighth. Taylor Trible posted a one-over 73 to start the event and then shot a four-over 76 to push her into a tie for 20th. The senior posted four birdies on the day, including three in the first round.Â
Savannah Van Gaalen added a four-over 76 and a three-over 75, which placed her in a tie for 30th. Alma Betoret is tied for 48th, posting an eight-over 80 and a two-over 74. Betoret had four birdies on the day, while Van Gaalen recorded one. Liv Romer and Fernanda Gorostiaga are in 63rd and 74th, respectively.Â
Host ULM leads the pack by five strokes over Samford. Houston Christian, Bradley, Southern Miss, and Troy round out the top five — Southern Miss and Troy are tied at 20-over par. Johanna Sjursen is the top individual at 10-under par and is four strokes ahead of LSU's Ryleigh Knaub.Â
