Track and Field Earns Three Wins on Day Two of Bulldog Alumni Relays

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Southern Miss track and field recorded three event wins and multiple top eight finishes on the second day of competition at the Bulldog Alumni Relays in Starkville, with the final day of events set to resume Saturday.

On the women's side, the Golden Eagles dominated the 5000m, led by Alexandria Cooper's first-place finish with a time of 17:37.42, while Alana Simon added a first-place finish in the high jump, clearing 1.76 meters. For the men, Tyler Hughes secured a first-place finish in the high jump with a clearance of 2.16 meters.

Southern Miss placed three runners following Cooper, as Cadence Lapp took third (17:44.45), Addison Rainey finished fourth (17:50.83) and Indy Grajalez placed sixth (18:37.54). Indea Pounds followed with a fourth-place mark of 1.63 meters. On the track, Addison McLaurin led Southern Miss in the 200m with a sixth-place finish (23.82), while Kennedi Sanders placed eighth (23.97). Sierra Edwards added an eighth-place finish in the 400m hurdles (1:04.45).

Maximus Littleton contributed in multiple events, placing fifth in the high jump (2.01m) and sixth in the long jump (6.84m). Javel Fullerton earned a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a time of 52.28, while Valentino Rudolph placed seventh in the 200m (21.00). In the field events, Conner Mozee recorded a fifth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 52.42 meters.
