Laurel Dennis & Sadie McAda Notch Career Win No. 50

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss (7-14, 0-0 Sun Belt) rolled to back-to-back 4-1 wins over ULM (5-10, 0-0 Sun Belt) and Spring Hill (6-7, 0-0 DI Independent) to cap off an undefeated four-game homestand in the Spring Break Slam.

Top flight pairing Sadie McAda (Pleasanton, Texas) and Laurel Dennis (Gulfport, Miss.) broke another Southern Miss milestone as they clinched their 49th and 50th career wins together as a pair. The duo now leads all Golden Eagle pair records with a 50-46 (.521) career record.

Southern Miss also honored its senior, Iustina Corcoz (Bucharest, Romania), Zuzanna Michalska (Warsaw, Poland) and Ryann Thomas (Georgetown, Ky.) with a postgame ceremony following the final dual against Spring Hill.

Southern Miss 4, ULM 1
Southern Miss opened up its final day of the Spring Break Slam with a 4-1 win over Sun Belt foe ULM. The Golden Eagles took the first point of the dual thanks to Thomas and Giovanna Gurgel Bahia (Recife, Brazil) taking the fifth flight in two sets. ULM, though, gave its all and tied the dual with a three-set victory at the fourth pairing. Michalska and Abby Lewis (The Woodlands, Texas) ground out a second flight victory to retake a 2-1 lead before Jaden White (West Palm Beach, Fla.) and Kitija Martini Adamsone (Marupe, Latvia) clinched the dual for the Golden Eagles.

Dennis and McAda were pushed to extras in both their sets as ULM's Abby Ryno and Claire Williamson gave their all. The Golden Eagles' top flight took the first set 23-21 before fighting to an all-time second set, winning 28-26 to set the dual at 4-1 and give Southern Miss its sixth win of the 2026 campaign.

Southern Miss took a brief reprieve before taking the sand for back-to-back duals. Thomas and Margarita Grigoreva (Moscow, Russia) led off the dual with a two-set win at the fives and were quickly followed by Do and Bahia's victory at the fourth pairing. Dennis and McAda clinched the dual in straight sets with a dominant win over Spring Hill's top flight, winning 21-7 and 21-17. The win got the pair their 50th victory together in their third season playing alongside.

The Sandy Badgers got their first and only point of the dual at the third pair with Landry Tea and Ashlyn Whiteside winning two close sets each 21-19. Michalska and Lewis finished off the tournament with a 21-16 and 21-13 two-set victory to give Southern Miss a 4-1 victory. Southern Miss wrapped up its homestand with a perfect 4-0 record and 18-2 pair record.

The Golden Eagles will play four matches over the two-day event beginning with an 8 a.m. CT (9 a.m. ET) dual against College of Charleston on Friday, March 27. The Golden Eagles also take on Mercer on Friday at 10:15 a.m. CT (11:15 a.m. ET), Coastal Carolina on Saturday at 8 a.m. CT (9 a.m. ET) and close the event against UNCW at 12:30 p.m. CT (1:30 p.m. ET).
