Softball Takes a Trip to Nicholls for Midweek Matchup

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss Softball (7-8) heads to Thibodaux, La. to play Nicholls (9-3) at Swanner Field at Geo Surfaces Park on Wednesday, Feb. 25.
The game is at 6 p.m. in Thibodaux with Nicholls holding an overall record against Southern Miss 6-3, with the Golden Eagles coming from a series loss over the weekend to LA Tech in Ruston La.
The Golden Eagles continue to be front runners in the Sun Belt with seven triples, nine SAC flies, 141 assists and .980 fielding percentage. Nealy McManus is tied to lead the Sun Belt with three SAC flies, tied for seventh in the conference for doubles with five and she is tied for ninth in RBIs with 15. Madison Johnson is tied-for first in the Sun Belt with three triples.
Southern Miss is tied for ninth in the nation for triples and tied for eight for total SAC flies. McManus ranks tied for third in the nation with 47 assists and is ranked tied for fifth in SAC hits.
