Men’s Golf Continues the 2025-26 Campaign at The Hal Williams Collegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-- Southern Miss men's golf opens the second leg of the season hitting the road to Mobile, Alabama to compete in The Hal Williams Collegiate on Feb. 16 at the Magnolia Grove Golf Course.
South Alabama is hosting the tournament and is one of the 14 teams competing over the three-day span. No. 13 Illinois, Kent State, Texas State, Rice, Louisiana Tech, Nebraska, UAB, Memphis, Davidson, Abilene Christian, Eastern Michigan, Southern Illinois and Southern Miss round out the rest of the competitors. The event will be played with a shotgun style start with 36 holes being played on Monday and wrapping up with 18 on Tuesday. Round one is scheduled to start at 8:00 a.m. with the second-round set for 12:00 p.m.
The Golden Eagles are bringing Ben Hoagan November/December award winner and freshman Jake Moffitt, junior Supakorn Amornchaichan, junior Benjamin Fernandez, junior Tommy Latter and sophomore Matthew Javier. The team is coming off a historic start to the season with back-to-back tournament wins at the JT Poston Invitational and the Badger Invitational, the first time the program has won back-to-back tournaments since the 1979-80 season.
The Magnolia Grove Golf Course is a part of the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail known for its marshland, lakes and pine trees. The Crossings Course, one of the two 18-hole courses the club offers, formerly hosted the Airbus LPGA Classic in 2014. The course features Bermuda fairways and greens.
