Golden Eagles Open Up the Season at the Argent Financial Classic

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team heads to the Argent Financial Classic at the par 72 Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, Louisiana to kick off the season.
The 18-team field consists of the Golden Eagles, Louisiana Tech, Houston, Lamar, Louisiana, North Texas, South Alabama, Middle Tennessee, Rice, Troy, Western Kentucky, UAB, Nicholls, ULM, Memphis, UTSA, Jacksonville State, and LSU (individuals). The Squire Creek Country Club course is 7,105 yards and a par 72.
The event starts at 7:30 with the Golden Eagles going underway at 9:50 with Supakorn Amornchaichan teeing off. The Golden Eagles are utilizing a five-player team in Matthew Javier, Jake Moffit, Will Burnham, Ben Fernandez, and Supakorn Amornchaichan.
Senior Will Burnham and junior Supakorn Amornchaichan are no strangers to the Argent Financial Classic with Will appearing in the 2024 event and Supakorn appearing in both the 2024 and 2023 events.
Matthew Javier appeared in nine events last year scoring four-under par twice, Jake Moffit is coming off a trip to the United States Amateur Championship and Ben Fernandez who appeared in five events last year with a finish at five-under par; the trio are looking to make an impact in their first appearance at the Argent Financial Classic.
