Cross Country Finishes at Southern Showcase

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Southern Miss women's cross country placed 16th out of 43 teams Friday at the Southern Showcase, with Emme Bates leading the Golden Eagles with a 50th-place finish in 17:41.3.
Addison Rainey followed as the second finisher for Southern Miss, placing 82nd overall in 18:00.0. Graduate student Maria Kaylor crossed next in 99th at 18:10.5.
The Golden Eagles packed closely with Alexane Hunte (18:23.7), Lexi Cooper (18:31.4), Indy Grajalez (18:35.8), Katie Galgoczy (18:37.9) and Cadence Lapp (18:39.3) all finishing within 16 seconds of each other.
Hayley Datema rounded out the lineup in 19:30.9.

Southern Miss returns to action Sept. 26 at the Seminole Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
