Cross Country Announces 2025 Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Southern Miss cross country head coach Nick Gibson unveiled the 2025 schedule on Wednesday morning.
"We're looking forward to the upcoming season," Gibson said. "We have brought back an experienced team and have some new faces that can take on our challenging schedule and have us ready to compete for championships at the end of the year."
The schedule features three trips to Alabama and one each in Florida and Louisiana. Southern Miss opens the season on Friday, Aug. 29, at the Battle for New Orleans. The event will be held at Lake Oaks Park.
Southern Miss will head to Huntsville, Ala., two weeks later for The Southern Showcase — Jacksonville State hosts the race, and it will be held at the John Hunt Park Cross Country Course. The Golden Eagles then open their October slate with the Crimson Classic on Friday, Oct. 17, at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, Fla.
The Sun Belt Championships will be hosted by South Alabama at Graham Creek Nature Preserve on Friday, Oct. 31. At the 2022 championships, Gibson's squad took home the first conference title in program history. The NCAA Division I South Regional Championships will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala. The Division I Championships are slated for Saturday, Nov. 22, at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Mo.
