Four Track and Field Student-Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Four Southern Miss track and field student-athletes, including women's distance runner Maria Kaylor (Cincinnati, Ohio), women's sprinter Addison McLaurin (Brandon, Miss.), men's high jumper Zayne Palomino (Kingston, Jamaica) and men's sprinter Kelsey Singleton (Flora, Miss.) were selected to the Collegein Sports Communicators 2025 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field teams.
The 2025 Academic All-District® Men's Track & Field teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the track, in the field, and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's track& field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Kaylor holds a 3.78 grade point average as she works on her master's degree in nutrition and food systems. The two-time Sun Belt Cross Country Runner of the Week last fall earned first-team All-Sun Belt honors in cross country as well as third-team accolades in indoor track and field for the 5000 meters race.
McLaurin enjoys a 3.69 GPA in kinesiology and participated in the 4x400 relay NCAA Regionals in 2024. She also was a part of the 4x100 relay team that won at the 2025 Sun Belt Outdoor Championship, while also finishing third in the 400 meters. She earned first-team All-Sun Belt Conference for both the 2025 indoor and outdoor seasons by being a part of the championship 4x400 relay squads for both league championship meets.
Palomino collects a 3.76 GPA in sport management, while earning third-team all-Sun Belt Conference in both indoor and outdoor this past season. He has appeared in two NCAA Championships, including the 2023 Outdoor and 2024 Indoor events.
Singleton possesses a 3.78 GPA in liberal studies while also earning second-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors during the outdoor campaign and third-team accolades in the indoor season. He competed in the NCAA Championships in the 400 meters earlier this month.
Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
