
Women's Golf Poised for NCAA Regional Debut in Norman

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women's golf team is set to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division I Women's Golf Regional, hosted at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club in Norman, Okla., from May 5-7.Â
The field will play 36 holes of golf on Monday due to pending inclement weather in the Norman area. They will then finish the final round on Tuesday or Wednesday as weather allows. Southern Miss will tee off on Monday morning with a shotgun start at 8:25 a.m.
The Golden Eagles will travel the following for their five-person lineup: Momoka Ando, Ragini Navet, Taylor Trible, Louise Cuyvers, and Elena Melich. Ando is coming off a Sun Belt individual title in Point Clear, Ala. Â
Ando leads Southern Miss with a 73.7 stroke average across 26 rounds. She is coming off a dominant performance at the Sun Belt Championship, where she fired rounds of 70-68-69 (-9) to win individual medalist honors. She has recorded nine rounds of par-or-better and holds the team's low season round at 66 – Trible also shot a 66 this season.Â
Trible has been a consistent force this spring with a 73.9 average and eight rounds of par or better. She owns two runner-up finishes, including six-under, 210 at the ULM Invitational and a 213 at The Judson.Â
Cuyvers adds key depth to the lineup with a 75.3 average. She placed T4 at The Judson and shot a season-low 69 at the Puerto Rico Shootout, where she finished T5 overall. She has four rounds of par or better on the year.Â
Navet enters the regional with momentum, posting top 10 finishes at both The Ally (213) and Tulane Classic (223). She holds a 75.5 average over 15 rounds with three par-or-better rounds. Melich holds a 75.0 stroke average and has played 26 rounds of stroke play this season. She leads the Golden Eagles with 118 career rounds. Â
The Jimmie Austin Golf Club has hosted the NCAA Regionals in 2013, 2019, 2023, and 2025. The top five teams at each of the six regional sites will advance to the 2025 NCAA Championship at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif. The other five regional sites are: Gold Canyon, Ariz. (Superstition Mountain Golf & Country Club), Lexington, Kentucky (Keene Trace Golf Club), Charlottesville, Va. (Birdwood Golf Course), Lubbock, Texas (The Rawls Course), and Columbus, Ohio (OSU Golf Club).Â

The 12-team regional features Stanford, Northwestern, North Carolina, Michigan State, Duke, Oklahoma, Baylor, Oregon State, Tulsa, Denver, Furman, and Southern Miss. Stanford is the reigning National Champions after defeating No. 6 UCLA in the match play finals last year and have won three national titles over the last 10 years.Â
