Men’s Tennis Falls to Troy in Conference Match

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss came up short in Sun Belt Conference action on Saturday, falling 4-0 to Troy on Saturday.
The Golden Eagles (2-15, 0-5 Sun Belt) dropped the doubles point after setbacks on courts one and three. Line 2 pairing was locked in a tight battle before play was halted with the match unfinished.
In singles play, Southern Miss fell short as Troy secured straight-set wins at the top three positions to clinch the match. Olle Noltorp, Rasmus Becker and Pasawee Reansuwong each fell in their respective matchups.
Several contests were left unfinished, including Saheb Sodhi's match at line 2 singles, where he led in the first set and was in a close second set before play stopped. Niklas Jensen also held a slight edge on court five, and Ritabrata Sarkar split sets on court six before his match was called.
Southern Miss also celebrated graduate student Pasawee Reansuwong for Senior Day.
The Golden Eagles will return to play against South Alabama on Monday, April 7th at 2 p.m. in Hattiesburg.
