
Men’s Tennis Falls to South Alabama in Final Home Match of the Season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's tennis team (2-16, 0-6 Sun Belt) fell to South Alabama (8-11, 4-2 Sun Belt) in its final home match of the season on Monday.
South Alabama took early control in doubles, earning wins on courts one and two to claim the doubles point. Niklas Jensen and Saheb Sodhi dropped a 6-3 decision at line one, while Ritabrata Sarkar and Ricards Spaks battled but came up short, 7-5, at line two. Court three remained unfinished, with Olle Noltorp and Pasawee Reansuwong trailing 6-5 when the point was awarded to the Jaguars.
In singles, South Alabama extended its lead with victories at lines four, three, and two to clinch the match. Noltorp split sets with the Jaguars' Javier Montoya at the top spot before play was halted. Spaks and Sarkar were also engaged in competitive matches on lines five and six before action was stopped.
Southern Miss returns to action for its final two Sun Belt contests on the road against Old Dominion and James Madison on Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13. Both matches are set for 9 a.m. CT.
