Senior Night Scheduled to Take Place After Final Match
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss beach volleyball (9-15, 3-5 Sun Belt) returns to its home sand for the first time since opening weekend to host the 2025 Hub City Beach Bash. The Golden Eagles will take on New Orleans, Southeastern and Spring Hill on Friday with Senior Night festivities set to take place after the final match against Spring Hill.

Southern Miss Beach Volleyball Complex // Hattiesburg, Miss.
The Golden Eagles meet the Privateers for the second time this season and for the 13th time in the series' history. UNO leads the all-time series 7-5 though Southern Miss took the first meeting of the year 3-2 to snap a three-game Privateer streak.
In their last week of play, New Orleans finished 1-1 at Nicholls' Bayou Beach Battle in Thibodaux, La. The Privateers dropped a 5-0 decision to Spring Hill before finishing the week with a 3-2 win over Mobile.
First-year head coach Ryan Havice is still working to turn the Privateers around. He posted a 31-29 record in two seasons at Hendrix before moving to the Lakefront. UNO was selected to finish eighth in the preseason Southland Conference Poll with Ivana De Carvalho Peixe and Nikelle Lander earning spots on the league's Players to Watch list.

The Lady Lions head to Hattiesburg for the first time since 2023 and sport a 6-14 overall ledger. Southern Miss leads the all-time series against Southeastern, taking all six matches against SLU. The Golden Eagles took their sixth all-time victory over the Lady Lions earlier this season in Youngsville, La.
Southeastern took last week off, last taking the sand two weeks ago at the Southland Conference Mid-Year Invitational in Thibodaux, La. They finished 2-4 overall in the Southland's three-day seeding event, taking victories over McNeese and Nicholls while dropping decisions to Houston Christian, Boise State, Stephen F. Austin and San Jose State.
Head coach Amy Blanke is in her first season in Hammond, former boss at New Orleans from 2022-23. Blanke posted a 38-33 record with the Privateers before taking the Southeastern Job this past fall. The Lady Lions were picked to finish sixth in the Southland Conference Poll with four athletes – Gabriela Hrubanova, Alexis Logarbo, Mia McKinney and Mia Sauers – earning spots on the Southland Players to Watch list.

Southern Miss closes its homestand with another meeting against Spring Hill, whom the Golden Eagles have played twice already this season. The Sandy Badgers and Golden Eagles will be meeting for the 18th overall time with Southern Miss leading the series 10-7 after taking the last seven meetings.
Spring Hill (11-11) posted a 2-1 record last week with a win at Mobile and a 1-1 showing at Nicholls' Beach Bayou Battle. In Thibodaux, the Sandy Badgers swept New Orleans 5-0 and dropped a 4-1 decision to McNeese.
Sarah Senft is in her fourth season leading the Sandy Badgers and holds a 68-50 overall record in Mobile. Senft previously played for Southern Miss head coach Shawn Taylor at Spring Hill, earning a total of nine letters playing indoor and beach volleyball at Spring Hill. She took over the beach program after graduation in June 2021.

Southern Miss will celebrate the careers of Madison Cassidy (Baton Rouge, La.), Jessica Fairly (Fort Walton Beach, Fla.), Wiio Meinheit (Wilmington, N.C.), Carmen Sanchez Delgado (Málaga, Spain) and Dylan Russell (Oklahoma City, Okla.), as well as long-time student assistant coach Drew Williams, in a ceremony after the conclusion of the match against Spring Hill.
