Fullerton Breaks School Record as Track and Field Competes at Crimson Tide Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Javel Fullerton etched his name into the Southern Miss history books over the weekend, breaking the school record in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 50.85 seconds to highlight the Golden Eagles' performances at the Crimson Tide Invitational. Fullerton's dominant run earned him first place in the event to mark one of two of the teams' wins against SEC and Sun Belt opponents.
On the women's side, the 4x400m relay team of Jaellene Burgess, Addison McLaurin, Taliyah Lindsay, and Kennedi Sanders captured gold with a time of 3:38.77. Lindsay also clocked a 23.65 to place fourth in the 200m, while Sanders finished third in the 400m with a time of 53.15. In the field events, Alana Simon continued her stellar season by placing second in the high jump (1.75m), and Joidon Boddie earned a runner-up finish in the triple jump with a leap of 12.25m.
For the men, Kelsey Singleton sprinted to a second-place finish in the 400m (46.51), and the 4x400m relay team finished fourth overall with a time of 3:10.80. In the high jump, Zayne Palomino cleared 2.05m to place third, while Maximus Littleton took seventh (2.00m). Piers Cameron rounded out the top finishes with an eighth-place mark in the shot put (17.59m).
The Golden Eagles will take a weekend break before heading to the LSU Alumni Gold Meet on Saturday, April 26th in Baton Rouge.
