Women's Golf Set to Compete in Sun Belt Championship

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- Fresh off a team title at the ULM Invitational, the Southern Miss women's golf team now turns its attention to postseason play as it heads to the 2025 Sun Belt Championship, set for April 14-17 at The Lakewood Club in Point Clear, Ala.

The Sun Belt Championship will take place on The Lakewood Club's Dogwood Course, a par-72 layout that stretches over 6,000 yards. Known for its scenic and demanding design, the course features tree-lined fairways, well-placed bunkers, and fast, smooth greens. The Lakewood Club has a history of serving as host to numerous high-profile tournaments.

Southern Miss will join 12 other Sun Belt programs in the championship field, with the winner earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Regionals.

Under the direction of head coach Colton Cowan, the Golden Eagles are riding high after capturing the team title at the ULM Invitational last week. It marked the program's first team championship of the spring season and provided a boost heading into postseason play.

Junior Taylor Trible leads the Golden Eagles after a steady spring campaign. Joining will be Seniors Momoka Ando and Elena Melich who have been key contributors throughout the season. Freshman Louise Cuyvers and Junior Alma Betoret have also provided consistent depth in the lineup and will be traveling. Freshman Fernanda Gorostiaga will make the trip to Point Clear as the team's alternate.

Live scoring throughout the Sun Belt Championship will be available HERE. Betoret will be the first Golden Eagle off the tee box as she starts on hole one at 8 a.m. CT.
