
Men’s Golf Finishes Regular Season at Old Waverly Collegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team finishes the regular season portion of its 2024-25 season when the play at the Old Waverly Collegiate Monday and Tuesday in West Point, Miss.
The Golden Eagles will play at the par 72, 7,088-yad Old Waverly Golf Club and feature the lineup of sophomore Benjamin Fernandez (Asuncion, Paraguay), senior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.), freshman Matthew Javier (Toronto, Ontario), junior Will Burnham (Jackson, Miss.) and sophomore Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand). Freshman Filip Sakota (Milan, Italy) is set to play as an individual.
Southern Miss has enjoyed a third and fourth place finish in its last two events with Fernandez enjoying the highest finish for the Golden Eagles over those tournaments. Since transferring into the program during mid-semester, Fernandez has enjoyed a stroke average of 71.47 over 15 rounds of golf.
Javier ranks second on the team with a 72.52 stroke average.
The 54-hole event will be 36 holes on Monday with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. Unless the teams do not complete all 36 holes, Tuesday will have tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. until 10:20 a.m.
Following the Old Waverly Collegiate, Southern Miss travels to Annandale Country Club in Madison, Miss., for the 2025 Sun Belt Conference championship set for April 21-24.
