Women's Golf Sends Two Individual Players to Tulane Classic

HATTIESBURG, Miss. --Â Two Southern Miss women's golfers are headed to English Turn Golf & Country Club this week as they partake in the Tulane Classic. Ragini Navet and Fernanda Gorostiaga will play in the 12-team field starting on Sunday and running through Tuesday.Â
The Golden Eagles are coming off a rain-shortened trip to Puerto Rico where they finished third at the Puerto Rico Shootout -Â Navet and Gorostiaga did not participate in that tournament. The full field in New Orleans includes Cal Poly, Fresno State, Gonzaga, Howard, Incarnate Word, Loyola - New Orleans, Southern, Texas State, Tulane, UTEP, Southern Miss and LSU. Southern Miss and LSU are not participating in the team event.
Both last played in the Great River Cup as individuals. Navet fired one round of par golf in her last stroke play event, which was The Judson back in late October. Gorostiaga last played in a stroke play event at The Judson as well, finishing with a 245 54-hole total.Â
Gorostiaga tees off on hole 10 at 9.am., while Navet starts at 9:10 a.m. on hole 10. Fans can follow live scoring by CLICKING HERE.
