Women's Golf Arrives in Puerto Rico for The Puerto Rico Shootout

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -Â The Southern Miss women's golf team will compete in The Puerto Rico Shootout at the Palmas Del Mar Golf Club starting on Monday. The 54-hole, three-day event will be held on the Flamboyan Course in Humacao, P.R.Â
The Golden Eagles are coming off a third-place finish at The Great River Cup match play event. Southern Miss picked up wins over Memphis and Arkansas State. The first round of The Puerto Rico Shootout will start Monday morning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The second and third rounds will follow with similar starts on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively.Â
Southern Miss will travel Taylor Trible, Momoka Ando, Elena Melich, Alma Betoret and Louise Cuyvers. Trible leads all Golden Eagles with a 73.8 stroke average this season, while Melich is averaging 74.3 strokes per round.Â
The 13-team field includes Ball State, Little Rock, UNCG, Wofford, Florida Gulf Coast, Boston College, Memphis, UTRGV, Southern Miss, Western Carolina, Central Arkansas, James Madison and Middle Tennessee.Â
