Men’s Tennis Falls Short in Close Match Against Oral Roberts

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Southern Miss came up just short in a tightly contested match against Oral Roberts, falling 4-3 on Monday afternoon at Billingsley Tennis Center. The Golden Eagles picked up three wins in singles play, but Oral Roberts secured the overall victory with key performances in both singles and doubles.

Olle Noltorp and Niklas Jensen each notched straight-set singles victories for Southern Miss. Noltorp handled Ricardo Filho 6-3, 6-3, while Jensen defeated Eli Brewer 6-4, 6-3. Charlie Brady also earned a hard-fought win, outlasting Ryan Holloway in a second-set tiebreaker, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4).

The Golden Eagles picked up a doubles win at line three, as Brady and Ritabrata Sarkar dominated Cayden Cheek and Lucas Couy 6-1. However, Oral Roberts clinched the doubles point with wins at the top two spots.
