Beach Volleyball Closes Out Sun Belt Mid-Season Seeding Tournament

FOLEY, Ala. – Southern Miss beach volleyball its time at the Sun Belt Mid-Season Seeding Tournament with losses to Coastal Carolina and ULM. The Golden Eagles' trip to Alabama is the last before Southern Miss returns home for its Hub City Beach Bash on Friday, April 4.

Coastal Carolina 4, Southern Miss 1
Laurel Dennis (Gulfport, Miss.) and Sadie McAda (Pleasanton, Texas) picked up a three-set decision at the second flight but proved to be the only Golden Eagle pair to find success against Coastal Carolina (11-10, 5-1 Sun Belt).

Dylan Russell (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and Y-Nhu Do (Cary, N.C.) did all they could to force a third set at the fourth dual. The pair fell 34-32 in the second set in their attempt to take Southern Miss' second point of the match.

Southern Miss closed out their two days in lower Alabama with a 4-1 loss to ULM. The Warhawks evened the regular season series between the two at one apiece thanks to wins at flights one through four.

Jessica Fairly (Fort Walton Beach, Fla.) and Giovanna Gurgel Bahia (Recife, Brazil) salvaged the day with a two-set win at the fifth pairing.
