Women's Tennis Faces Florida A&M Monday to Cap Road Swing

HATTIESBURG, Miss.-The Southern Miss women's team (3-2, 0-0 Sun Belt) closes out its road stretch and nonconference slate with a contest at Florida A&M University on Monday at 2 p.m. at the Althea Gibson Tennis Complex.
The Golden Eagles look to rebound from a 4-1 setback against Southeastern Louisiana last Friday in Hammond, La. Sakura Sudo continued her strong start to the season, securing Southern Miss' lone singles victory with a 6-4, 6-0 win while also teaming up with Miranda Xu for a commanding 6-0 doubles victory.
Southern Miss was scheduled to play Lamar following its match against Southeastern Louisiana, but the game was canceled due to inclement weather.
Although Southern Miss saw its five-match doubles win streak snapped against the Lions, the team has been very competitive in doubles play this season and looks to reclaim that edge against the Rattlers.
FAMU is 0-8 on the season, dropping its last contest Feb. 23 at UAB.
The Golden Eagles last played FAMU to open the 2024 spring schedule, with the Rattlers winning 4-0.
