
Men's Golf Finishes All-American Intercollegiate Tuesday with Fourth-Place Finish

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Sophomore Benjamin Fernandez (Asuncion, Paraguay) collected a final-round 72 to help Southern Miss place fourth in the All-American Intercollegiate in Humble, Texas, Tuesday.
Being played at the par-72, 7,422-yard Tournament Course at the Golf Club of Houston, Fernandez finished tied for sixth with a 36-hole total of 214, which was two-under-par.
Senior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.) added a two-over 74 over his final 18 holes to complete his tournament with a one-under 215 for a 10th-place tie. In a 21st-place tie was junior Will Burnham (Jackson, Miss.) after firing a 76 to complete his tournament with a stroke total of 219.
The pair of freshmen, Matthew Javier (Toronto, Ontario) and sophomore Supakorn Amornchaichan (Pattaya City, Thailand), each finished tied for 46th with a 225. Amornchaichan ended his event with a 77 and Javier a 78.
Two other Golden Eagles, redshirt sophomore Walker Wise (Tupelo, Miss.) and sophomore Tommy Latter (Mississauga, Ontario), each participated in the individual tournament at the Member Course. Wise collected a 75 over his final round for a 228, while Latter added a 78 for a 54-hole total of 238.
Tournament host Houston captured the team competition with a 20-under 844, followed by Troy (853), TCU (861) and Southern Miss (870) in the 16-team event. The Golden Eagles shot a final round 299.
The Golden Eagles return to action at the Memphis Intercollegiate March 31-April 1.
