Men’s Golf Opens Spring Portion of Schedule at Hal Williams Collegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss men's golf team returns to action for the spring portion of its schedule when they participate in the third annual Hal Williams Collegiate at the Magnolia Grove Golf Club in Mobile, Ala., Monday and Tuesday.
The 54-hole event includes 36 continuous holes on Monday starting with an 8 a.m., shotgun start, before concluding with another shotgun start Tuesday at 8 a.m., at the par 71, 7,059-yard course.
Along with the Golden Eagles and host South Alabama, the field includes Davidson, Kansas State, Kent State, Louisiana Tech, Memphis, Oral Roberts, SMU, Seton Hall, Southern Illinois, Texas State and UAB.
The Golden Eagles will feature the lineup of senior Ryan Dupuy (Baton Rouge, La.), freshman Matthew Javier (Toronto, Ontario), junior Will Burnham (Jackson, Miss.), along with Golden Eagle newcomers sophomore Benjamin Fernandez (Asuncion, Paraguay) and freshman Filip Sakota (Milan, Italy).
The Tournament is named after former administrator and South Alabama alum, the late Hal Williams. It is the 11th straight season that the Jaguars will open the spring hosting an event.
