HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Fans attending Southern Miss home baseball games will see some improvements and new additions to its game-day atmosphere this spring.
The most notable ballpark development, which took place during the offseason, includes the expansion of more seating down the right field line as another level in the patio was added. That addition will allow the inclusion of more fans during the home season.
In addition, a new infield playing surface on Hill Denson Field was also replaced this winter, while more work was added in the Golden Eagles' third-base dugout, which included a makeover, highlighted by new bench seating. Other new improvements to the facility include a new privacy fence as well as a new floor in the team's weight room.
The left field billboard was also updated with new graphics, as was the ticket office in front of the stadium. Fans will also notice a new design for the videoboard, which for the first time, will include a K counter for the number of times opponents have struck out during the game.
For those that may have missed out last year, Southern Miss concessions returns with convenient grab-and-go concession options available at multiple locations, along with a great selection of outside vendors. And don't forget to try Southern Skies, the licensed beer of Southern Miss Athletics!
The Southern Miss Ticket Office will also have bleacher and standing room only tickets available for every home game during the regular season while supplies last. Fans are encouraged to buy early at SouthernMissTickets.com, 1-800-844-TICK (8425), or visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office on weekdays during normal business hours.
