Southern Miss Places Six on ABCA/Rawlings All-Region South Baseball Teams

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Six Southern Miss baseball players earned postseason honors Tuesday by being named to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-South Region teams.
Golden Eagle first baseman Matthew Russo (Madisonville, La.), second baseman Kyle Morrison (Wetumpka, Ala.), left-handed starting pitcher Grayden Harris (Central, La.) and right-handed reliever Camden Clark (Laurel, Miss.) all earned first-team honors, while center fielder Joey Urban (Jupiter, Fla.) and right-handed reliever Colby Allen (Louisville, Miss.) were members of the second team.
Russo, a first-team selection by the Sun Belt Conference and an SBC All-Tournament team pick, finished his final season with a .318 average with 11 home runs and a team-high 56 RBI. Russo also earned a spot on the Lou Gehrig Community Impact team during his final season with the Golden Eagles. In addition, Russo finished second on the school career hit by pitch list by being plunked 64 times.
Morrison, in his only season with the Golden Eagles, started in all 61 games and batted .308 with a team-best 17 home runs to go along with 48 RBI. The Dick Howser Trophy semifinalist also earned first-team Sun Belt honors. He also tied for the team's best hitting streak at one point during the season at 11 games.
Harris, the Sun Belt Pitcher of the Year and Ferriss Trophy Finalist, compiled an 8-1 record with a 4.02 ERA. Harris registered a team-best 107 strikeouts with only 19 walks in 87 1/3 innings. He went five or more innings in 12 starts during the year and won his last four decisions to end the campaign.
Clark, who was a first-team All-Sun Belt selection as a relief pitcher and a member of the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List, posted an 8-0 record with a team-high five saves. He fanned 81 and walked 12 over 55 1/3 innings, while posting a 2.93 ERA. He appeared in 23 games with seven starting assignments.
Urban, who was voted as the 2026 Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Player, ended his final season with the Golden Eagles with a .322 batting average with 15 home runs and 55 RBI. During his season, Urban also earned Round Rock Classic All-Tournament team honors and became the first Golden Eagle position player to earn league player of the week awards in consecutive weeks.
Allen, who finished his four-year career in fifth place with 92 career appearances, posted a 7-2 record with a 3.05 ERA and a pair of saves. He earned All-Sun Belt second-team honors and was a member of the league's All-Tournament team.
The Golden Eagles, which now have had 54 All-Region honorees since 1994, enjoyed the most selections of any year with their six.
First Team All-Region selections are eligible for ABCA/Rawlings All-America honors. The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-America teams will be announced on Friday, June 12, prior to the start of the NCAA Division I College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
The ABCA/Rawlings postseason awards schedule continues with the announcement of the NCAA Division I Gold Glove finalists on Monday, June 15, via X by Rawlings Sporting Goods (@RawlingsSports), followed by the Gold Glove winners in all divisions on Wednesday, June 17. ABCA/Rawlings National Pitchers and Position Players of the Year across all divisions will be announced on Monday, June 22.
