Track and Field Unveils 2026 Schedule

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss head coach Jon Stuart announced the Golden Eagles' 2026 men's and women's track and field schedule on Tuesday, unveiling a slate that features strong regional competition and several high-profile meets across the Southeast.

Stuart expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming season and the opportunities it presents for the team. "Our schedule gives us an opportunity to compete against some of the best in the country," Stuart says. "With these meets, we will be well-vetted for the postseason."

The indoor season opens Jan. 9 at the UAB Blazer Invitational in Birmingham, followed by a trip to Fayetteville, Ark., for the Arkansas Invitational on Jan. 16. After two open weekends, Southern Miss returns to action Feb. 1 at the South Alabama Jaguar Invitational. The Golden Eagles then compete in the UAB Green Invitational on Feb. 6 and the UAB Gold Invitational on Feb. 7 in Birmingham before heading to Nashville for the Vanderbilt Music City Challenge Feb. 13-14.

The Sun Belt Indoor Championships are set for Feb. 23-24 in Birmingham, and the NCAA Indoor Championships will follow March 13-14 in Fayetteville, Ark.

The outdoor season begins March 26-28 at the Bulldog Alumni Relays hosted by Mississippi State. Southern Miss returns home April 3-4 to host the Southern Miss Invitational at the Marshall Bell Complex. The Golden Eagles then travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for the Crimson Tide Invitational on April 10-11. Additional April competition includes the Wake Forest Invitational on April 16-17 and the Samford Invitational on April 25 in Birmingham. The team continues its road schedule at the South Alabama Invitational on May 1 before beginning postseason action.

The Sun Belt Outdoor Championships will be held May 14-16 in Mobile, Ala. Qualifying athletes will compete in the NCAA East Region Preliminary Rounds in Lexington, Ky., from May 27-30, with the NCAA Championships scheduled for June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
