Women’s Basketball Hosts Nicholls in Native American Heritage Game, presented by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and Bok Homa Casino

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's basketball, in conjunction with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and Bok Homa Casino, will celebrate the rich history and traditions of the MBCI and other Native American tribes in the Lady Eagles' Native American Heritage Game on Saturday, Nov. 22, at Reed Green Coliseum as Southern Miss takes on Nicholls at 2 p.m.
Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians tribal members will receive complimentary tickets and food vouchers at the north entrance of Reed Green Coliseum with valid identification. All fans can pick up their very own rally towel, sponsored by Bok Homa Casino and MBCI, at the marketing table on the north concourse.
Fans can take in a variety of activities and events during the game, beginning with a performance of the Star Spangled Banner sung in the Choctaw language by 2025 PRES American Indian Day Fifth Grade Princess Mylee Ben. Traditional Choctaw drummers will take the court for the Southern Miss' team entrance with Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben and 2025-26 Choctaw Princess Lexi Camille Rodriguez exchanging gifts with the Lady Eagles ahead of tipoff.
At halftime, the Bogue Homa Social Dancers will take the floor with chanter Bruce Jim in a display of traditional Choctaw dance. Members of the Southern Miss Golden Eagle Intertribal Society will be recognized on court in the fourth quarter.

About the Lady Eagles
Southern Miss (5-0) enters the game with a chance to continue its undefeated start to the Missy Bilderback era. The Lady Eagles are 5-0 for the 11th time in program history and could move to 6-0 for the 10th time in 51 seasons of play.
Bilderback continues her meteoric start to her tenure in the Hub City after becoming the second head coach in program history to win their first game, she continues to define the best start to a Lady Eagle head coaches' tenure. The Lady Eagles are averaging 87.0 points per game with all five everyday starters averaging double-figures.
Senior point guard Carly Keats (Philadelphia, Miss.) leads the group with 13.6 points per game and is closely followed by Meloney Thames (12.8), Jakayla Johnson (12.4), Hayleigh Breland (11.2) and Sakyia White (10.8). White (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) leads Southern Miss with 7.6 rebounds per game average posting her first double-double of the year last game alongside Johnson (Clinton, Miss.).
About the Colonels
Nicholls (3-2) enters the weekend on a two-game winning streak after defeating Louisiana, 66-63, and Mississippi Valley State, 73-66. The Colonels are led by third-year head coach and Nicholls alum Justin Payne, who holds a 34-34 ledger in Thibodaux.
Three Colonels are averaging double-figures so far with Jesslyn Jalomo (11.8), Sh'Diamond McKnight (11.6) and Jasmine Matthews (11.0) all sharing the load on the offensive side. Emani Burks leads the team 6.6 rebounds per game while freshman Anyra Wilson more than doubles the next-best passer with 16 assists.
The Nicholls Series
Southern Miss and Nicholls meet for the 20th time in series history with the Lady Eagles leading the all-time series 17-2 since the first game on Dec. 11, 1976. Southern Miss has won six consecutive games in the series since 2008 and is a perfect 11-0 against the Colonels in Reed Green Coliseum.
