Men’s Golf Travels to Arkansas for the Little Rock Buick GMC Classic Following Historic Run

HATTIESBURG, Miss. –- The Golden Eagles resumes fall play at the 2025 Everett Buick GMC Classic on Oct. 13-14 at Chenal Country Club's Founders Course, a par-72 covering the span of 7,115 yards, competing with a 15-team field.
Southern Miss enters the two-day tournament after securing their first back-to-back tournament victories since the 1979-80 season. Through three tournaments this season, the Golden Eagles posted an impressive 41-2-0 head-to-head record to mark one of the strongest starts in program history.
The 15-team field, hosted by Little Rock, includes Southern Miss, Furman, North Texas, Abilene Christian, JMU, Middle Tennessee, Austin Peay, Lamar, Central Arkansas, Lipscomb, Troy, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana, UAB, and ULM. The 54-hole tournament will begin with a 36-hole shotgun start on Monday at 8:15 a.m. with the remaining 18 holes to be played on Tuesday morning.
The Golden Eagles travel six for the two-day excursion with Matthew Javier, Jake Moffitt, Benjamin Fernandez, Will Burnham, and Walker Wise set for the team scoring with the red-shirt freshman Braden Duvall competing in the individual category marking his first collegiate start.
The venue, Chenal Country Club's Founders Course, was designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. utilizing Zoysia grass on the fairways and tees with the greens being Creeping Bent. The course is home to key features of seven lakes, streams, and contoured bunkers with elevated tees and is also known for hosting the 2019 Southern Amateur.
